Yu Ning Kang, a 22 year old Fashion Marketing student attending Blanche MacDonald Centre is an up-and-coming Public Relations specialist and is definitely one to watch out for in the fashion industry. Yu Ning is originally from Taiwan and came to Vancouver about three months ago to study the fashion industry. She began her journey here at Blanche last semester and is currently in her second semester of studies out out of four and she’s been loving it so far!
“It’s good, I like it”
Yu Ning also previously attended post secondary school in Taiwan at Soochow University (which we’ll get into later) but knew after she graduated she wanted to do more.
“After I graduated from college last year in Taiwan I didn’t want to directly get a job because I didn’t know exactly what I wanted to do.” Yu Ning says about her decision to come to Blanche MacDonald. “I searched masters degree in Taiwan in the fashion industry but they were all fashion design!”
So she dug a little deeper online and looked for more options outside her home country.
“I saw a youtuber (by the name of Mandy) and she went to Blanche”
This got Yu Ning excited and steered her towards looking more into what the Blanche MacDonald Centre had to offer.
“I’m really interested in fashion!” “I searched Blanche and the Fashion Marketing program and saw the course outline and I was really interested in what it covers so I decided to come here”
In addition to Yu Ning’s dedication and drive to the fashion industry she has also acquired a bachelors degree in English literature which she received from Soochow University in Taiwan. She plans to use the skills she learned at Soochow alongside the ones she’s currently learning at Blanche MacDonald to launch herself into a fruitful and successful career in the Public Relations field in Taiwan.
Overall with a combination of her keen eye for fashion and her past education in english literature I have no reservations saying that Yu Ning Kang is about to be the next big thing and take the fashion industry of Taiwan by storm.
